Thermodynamic Datenbase und Process Design

AsTher for MS Windows

All applications are 32-bit MS Windows applications and run on operating systems from MS Windows 2000 to MS Windows 11 (64-bit).

The application “Process Calculator for MS Excel” (XProCalc.exe) requires MS Excel (from Microsoft Office version 9 up to the latest 64-bit versions).
To date, no problems with any MS Office version are known..
XProCalc.exe uses Microsoft's technology Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) and Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
XProCalc.exc calculates in the MS Excel files, when the files are open.
XProCalc.exe only accesses the data in the working memory (RAM) of an open MS Excel file, but has no access to files stored on data carriers.

If the MS Windows operating systems no longer support 32-bit applications and/or data exchange between applications via Object Linking and Embedding (OLE), you can use a MS Windows operating system and a MS Office software that supports OLE in virtual machines, such as Oracle www.virtualbox.org.
All MS Windows operating systems from Windows 3.1 to Windows 11 run as virtual machines with Oracle VirtualBox on Linux, Microsoft, and Apple operating systems.

Recommended operating system environments for Oracle VirtualBox:
Linux: OpenSUSE 15.1 or 15.2, Mageia 7 or  8, Kubuntu 18
MS Windows:  MS Windows 2000, Windows 7, Windows 10 or 11
On some motherboards, the “virtual machine” must be enabled or activated in the BIOS settings so that the operating systems run properly.

Recommended Oracle VirtualBox versions:  VirtualBox 5, VirtualBox 6, VirtualBox 7
In all our calculations, we considered MS Excel version 2003 as the most stable Excel version.
The choice of operating system and software is an individual matter.
When a change or update of operating systems, compilers, software algorithms thermodynamic data sets, or office software, brings new problems, we touch nothing.
